Enjoy the Uganda’s Mountain Gorillas in this short Safari that takes you to the smallest national park in the pearl of Africa which is Mgahinga National Park in far south western part. This will involve crossing from Kigali city in Rwanda to Kisoro’s based Mgahinga National Park. Gorilla trekking allows you to spend 3 or more hours in the Park including an hour in the presence of these beautiful creatures.

Day 1. Drive from Kisoro to Mgahinga National Park
The driver guide will be waiting to pick you up from your Kisoro hotel and then have a short drive to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. This amazing park is the smallest but very interesting with two unique primate species (mountain Gorillas and golden monkeys). Arrive and head to the lodge booked for your dinner and start preparing for next day’s great adventure.
Day 2. Gorilla trekking and drive back to Kisoro town, drop-off at the agreed point.
Meet and greet the park guide after breakfast for briefing on getting used to the park rules and other required information concerned about Gorillas and the forest at large. Some of the rules and regulations for Gorilla trekking are maintain a distance of 7m from the gorilla family, don’t use flash photography, smoking, eating and drinking in front of the Gorillas is not permitted while on the tour among others.
Trekking will begin with a help of the park guide and porters in case you have extra luggage. Spotting the gorilla family offers you an opportunity to spend an hour in their presence learning about their behaviors, movements and more. The females will be breastfeeding if they have children, the alpha male (Silverback) will be practicing its leadership skills and many more others.
The overall experience takes about 7 hours including an hour with the gorillas and immediately after lunch. Be dropped at your Kisoro based hotel or any other agreed point. There is also an option of dropping you off in Kigali city, Rwanda. This marks the end of the 2 days Uganda gorilla trek from Kisoro.
