Detailed itinerary
DAY 1: Transfer from Kigali to Volcanoes national park
Pick up from either your hotel in Kigali or from the airport by our company representative who will take you on a tour of Kigali city to visit the Gisozi genocide site, local markets and later hit the road driving north-wards to Volcanoes national park in Musanze province former Ruhengeri.

DAY 2: Gorilla Tracking safari in Volcanoes national park and Ibywacu Cultural Village
Up early for breakfast at your hotel, set off with the necessary tracking gear and packed lunch, you will move to the park headquarters for briefing, before proceeding with the ranger guides for the memorable adventure.
The time taken searching for gorillas highly depends on the movement of the gorillas since they are wildlife animals in the jungle. But your ranger guide has a rough idea where they may be as they are able to track the gorilla movements. It’s much advisable for you to be prepared with necessary gear and parked lunch as you begin the strenuous, but exciting adventure. A maximum of one hour is allowed with the Gorillas.
After the encounter, head back to your hotel for lunch, and in the afternoon have a cultural experience at the Gorilla Guardians village formerly known as Ibyiwacu cultural village to learn about the Rwandan culture. You can as well bypass the Ellen DeGeneres campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla fund in Kinigi to learn about conservation of the mountain gorillas and the environment.

DAY 3: Dian Fossey Tomb Hike or Golden monkey tracking and transfer to Lake Kivu
After an early breakfast, you will need to go and visit the Dian Fossey tomb and the remains of the Karisoke research centre. Or golden monkey tracking depending on the clients’ interests. Have lunch and get ready to transfer to Gisenyi – Lake Kivu. En-route visit the Murambi Genocide Memorial Site and the King’s palace reaching Lake Kivu in the evening to relax along the lake shores. DAY 4: Mount Nyiragongo Hike in Congo
Have an early breakfast at your hotel and cross over to DR Congo and proceed to Kibati village where the mountain Hike starts from. You will have a briefing by the park Ranger before you start your trek, with you will be your service rangers and Porters. You will reach the top in the
afternoon. The Lava is best viewed at night where you will also enjoy your dinner as you enjoy the best and most rewarding views of the Lava Lake at the summit. Your overnight shelter will also be at the top of the Nyiragongo volcanoes.
DAY 5: Descend the volcano and transfer back to Kigali for departure
In the morning, you will descend the Mount Nyiragongo volcano and meet up with your driver-guide at the base and cross back to Rwanda and proceed to Kigali for a Kigali city tour to visit historical places like the local Market, genocide memorial site, the national museum. Later have lunch and drop off at either your hotel or the airport for your Flight Home.
