Overview

This 5 days safari to Queen Elizabeth National Park is the most amazing experience you will have in Africa since you will explore different wildlife and mostly the big five where you will meet one of the rare and amazing animals the rare tree climbing lions in Ishasha  sector which located in the southern parts of the National Park during their free time resting up in the trees, elephants feeding alongside the roads, schools of hippos feeling great in water, buffaloes, giraffes and many others.

You will also proceed to one the protected areas, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for Gorilla trekking which will be more interesting and the Batwa cultural experience during community walk. Expect stopovers while still on way heading for the activity or accommodation before getting there.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1. Arrival at the airport and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Getting at the airport, our well behaved driver guide will welcome you and give a briefing about the safari then after jump into your safari car to start the journey heading to a World heritage site for great and pretty experiences.

Have a stopover at the Equator in Mpigi District for photo shoots and visiting the craft shops to buy souvenirs to take home for remembrance. Continue with the journey to check in with the booked lodge in the agreed location.

Day 2. Gorilla trekking, and community experience

Gorilla trekking is such an amazing experience one should not miss while on his/her safari in Uganda. Gorillas are one of the great primate apes in Uganda which are next to humans after chimpanzees by sharing 96% DNA of humans after chimpanzees that share 98.6% which make them too close to humans and being the next relatives. On such day you will have your breakfast as well then later move to the park offices where you will meet a Park Ranger guide to lead you into the forest in search of gorillas. Learn their social behaviors and many other things then later drive back to the lodge for lunch.

Community walk is what you can’t leave behind while in Bwindi where you interact with the Batwa people who used to stay in the forest before conservation. You hear stories from the elders how they used to survive while in the jungle, be entertained with their local music and dance, prepare with them their local dish and enjoy plus many other activities you will come across. Retreat to the lodge in the evening after the experience.

Day 3. Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and boat cruise

Wake up in the morning for breakfast then after check out with the lodge and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park for another activity. As soon as you start entering the park you will be welcomed by a number of animals where you will meet elephants feeding alongside the road, later proceed to check in with the booked lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon you drive to Kazinga channel for a boat ride experience where you will interact with the fishermen and if possible participate in fishing and catch a fish by your own. During this activity you high chances of spotting water animals such as crocodiles, hippos and also water birds such as kingfishers, vultures, fish Eagles, crakes and many more. Return to the lodge later for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4. Full day game drive

Day 4 will be a day of discovering amazing and great things mostly wildlife where you will spot a number of animals including some or most such as herds of elephants, lions, leopards, warthogs, Buffaloes and many others.

Therefore, after having your breakfast you will get into your car immediately and head for the game drive when it’s still early to catch up with some of the predators before they go back in cover. You will have picnic lunch when it clocks time and enjoy it while watching beautiful animals that you might not have spotted in the morning session. After the game drive head back to the lodge late in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5. Fly back home

On this day wake up as early as possible for delicious breakfast then after check out with the lodge and drive heading back to Kampala.

Depending on the time of your flight you can opt using the same route you used on the first day or use the different route via Kasese -Fort portal – Mubende – Kampala to discover more beyond what was seen in the first route. Be dropped at the airport or the agreed location by your safari guide.
