Overview
6 days Bwindi Gorillas and Masai Mara safari flying safari will lead you to two countries, it will start in Uganda and finally end in Kenya. You will visit National parks like Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda for Gorilla trekking and community tours where you visit the Batwa people though during trekking other primates can also be spotted.
You will fly from Bwindi, via Kihihi airstrip to Entebbe international airport then to Masai Mara in Kenya. A game drive will be done in this Savannah Park and a lot of animals will be spotted and recorded such as elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, Zebras, wildebeest and many others. You will also visit the Masai village for cultural experience.
Day 1. Fly to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
On day one of your safari you will have your breakfast from the lodge then later move to Entebbe airport and fly to Kihihi airstrip. The guide will be their waiting to welcome you and drive you to the booked lodge. Depending on the arrival time you can opt having an evening activity or relax.
Day 2. Gorilla trekking and Batwa community walk
Gorilla trekking in Bwindi is the best experience therefore, after your breakfast set out to the Park offices to meet the ranger guide. He/she will brief you about the field, group you in a pair of eight people then after lead you for the walk. You will spend one hour with Gorillas after trekking any family taking photos, following them to learn and understand their social behaviors and others. Return to the Park offices to meet your safari driver and drive back to the lodge for lunch.
Drive for another activity in the afternoon, which is also interesting and amazing the Batwa cultural experience who are the people that used to stay in the forest of Bwindi before conservation was put in action. Interact with the Batwa people by hearing stories from elders how they used to survive while in the jungle, visit their traditional healer to narrate you with the hubs they used, entertain you with their local music and dance then finally prepare and taste on their local cuisine. Retreat to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3. Fly back to Entebbe – connect to Masai Mara National reserve
Have your well prepared breakfast then after meet your driver to drop you at Kihihi airstrip to fly back Entebbe. After connect with the flight to Masai Mara National reserve. The flight will take you directly to one of the chosen airstrip in Masai Mara where you will find a Kenyan safari driver guide to proceed. He will brief you about the safari then later continue with the journey to the booked lodge.
Day 4. Full day game drive in Masai Mara
On this day wake up as early as possible, have your peaceful breakfast then after move to the park offices to meet a ranger guide who will be fully armed for protection to lead you for a game drive. Spot as many animals as you can while in the Savannah plains of Masai Mara for example lions, large herds of elephants, wildebeests, cheetahs, Zebras and many others. Enjoy your picnic lunch then after continue with the game drive up to evening. Retreat to the lodge after experience for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5. Morning game drive, cultural experience
After having your breakfast, set out for another game drive which will be the last one trying your chances of spotting those wildlife that you might have missed during the first drive. You will set off from the lodge early morning and go back in the afternoon for lunch after the experience. Thereafter, head to Masai village for cultural experience where you will interact with the local people, entertain you with their music and dance, hear stories from the elders, taste their local cuisine, support locals by buying their items and many others.
Day 6. Depart to Nairobi and fly back home.
Have your early breakfast in the morning from the lodge then after check out and head to Nairobi. Depending on the flight time you can first have a city tour around Nairobi, visit the craft shops to buy some souvenirs to take home for remembrance and so on. After, your driver will smartly drop you at the airport and fly back home.
