THE NYAMUSIKA CLIFFS

The Nyamusika cliffs is one of the beautiful land marks in Murchison falls national park. It is one of Murchison fall’s famous attraction along the Victoria Nile due to its amazing views.

The Nyamusika cliffs were known as a place which was inhabited by Fajao people who used the cliffs as a place for traditional sacrifices to their gods and also as a judging place where law breakers were executed and thrown into the river as a punishment.

The cliff acts as a breeding place for the pied kingfisher and the red throated bee-eaters, it is also a breeding place for the crocodiles where they lay their eggs to brood in the soil for 90 days.

HOW TO GET TO NYAMUSIKA CLIFFS.

These rocky land forms are majorly encountered on a boat cruise on Victoria Nile which is part of the Nile River.

On a quiet boat cruise sailing along Victoria Nile, marvel at the beautiful cliff edges which are home to a number of bird species which include; Swallow-tailed, Red-throated Bee-eaters, pied kingfisher and also the basking crocodiles and schools of hippopotamuses where visitors take close photos and capture moments onto their boats in close proximity with the crocodiles.

The numerous bird nests and colonies in the cliff edges make the cliffs a spectacular bird watching spot and a good view to take photos and capturing videos of the cliff, the surrounding vegetation and trees and the river bank.

The visitors are not allowed to get off the boat because it’s no longer safe, for the cliffs were hit by floods and water covered the whole river bank and it got crowded by many crocodiles.

The Nyamusika cliffs can also be accessed or reached on a nature walk.

On the other side of the cliff there are other activities that can be done like nature walks and bird watching, studying about plants and also be aware of mother hippo attacks.
