SAMBIYA RIVER LODGE
Sambiya river lodge is located in the heart of Murchison falls national park sited 1.5 km from the top of the falls junction, and Sambiya offers a fantastic location in the heart of the park.
It is the perfect location for those who want to experience the tranquility of unspoiled Africa, untouched by mass tourism. Sambiya River Lodge’s unique charm is in the atmosphere of closeness provided to the guests, surrounded by a vast number of beautiful trees. Guests stay in any of the 24 cottages designed as individual and family cottages which have en suite bathrooms, fans, screened doors & windows and a veranda to relax and enjoy the commanding views of typical Africa.
It is best known for its peaceful atmosphere, canopy walk and ziplining. Though most of their accommodation doesn’t fall into the low budget category, there are well-priced bandas overlooking a beautiful acacia woodland.
how to get to sambiya river lodge
From Kampala take the Gulu road north through Bombo, Luwero and past the left hand turn to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. The Kafu River is approximately 10kms. Just after crossing the river, make a left hand turn at the intersection going to Masindi (45kms).
This is a new road, so there should be no delays. In Masindi, just after the police station and before the Masindi Hotel, across from the Shell fuel station is a murram road with various signposts, including one for Sambiya River Lodge. Turn right onto this road and drive 6 kms and then turn left towards the Murchison Falls Conservation Area. Drive for 14 kms to the Kichumbanyobo Gate. Drive north a further 52 kms and turn right into the Sambiya River Lodge entrance.
