MURCHISON RIVER LODGE

Murchison River Lodge is situated directly on the southern bank of the River Nile overlooking Uganda’s largest national park, Murchison Falls. From the vantage point of the lodge bar and restaurant you are treated to panoramic views of the park and the infamous River Nile as it flows downstream between papyrus islands and pods of hippos.

Although completely off grid, the concept and design of Murchison River Lodge encourages gentle engagement with nature without compromising on comfort – something we sought from the very beginning. Highlights of the lodge include mid-range accommodation options, attentive staff, swimming pool, pool lounge, home-made meals, WIFI area, nature walk, well stocked bar and play areas for children.

Sustainable conservation combined with the empowerment of the local community is something Murchison River Lodge has, in recent years, spent time focusing on. We offer staff training programs, host a women’s group, work closely with the Ugandan Wildlife Authority and the Ugandan Conservation Foundation and promote local businesses. Never has it been more important to be aware of our impact on the world than now.
